So customization is one of the many reasons why The Factory Girl is different from every other furniture company. We have the capability and know-how to make any piece of furniture fit exactly what our buyer wants. We’ve had an amazing amount of success creating our own designs but now we want your help. We are having a contest to see who can design the next buffet table for The Factory Girl which will go into production immediately. If your design is selected, we will not only give you the piece of furniture, we will name the piece after you. So show us your artistic vision of what this buffet should look like and we might just be selling your design in our store and on our web site very soon. Please submit drawings to info@thefactorygirl.com. Contest ends Feb. 1, 2013.

Thanks

A crowd of women ages three to 70 showed up throughout the day to meet Lowe, and each of them left with pictures and giddy smiles on their faces.

The Factory Girl notified the public via their Facebook page that the blonde bachelor would be at the store from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. to meet and greet fans and take photos with them. Lowe is the President of The Factory Girl, and because he had a rare day off he made his way to Forney. Lowe said, “We thought it would be a good day to have a sale in honor of MLK Day and to get people out here to the store.”

Lowe takes his role as the President of the company very seriously and said that he oversees operations and is “looking to grow the e-commerce side of the business and become a national presence.” The store in Forney sells handbags, purses, jewelry, accessories, and one of a kind pieces of furniture. Lowe says, “I like Forney, I usually only get out here to our store, but Jessie and Clay live here in town.”

Related: Forney businessman Sean Lowe chosen as ‘The Bachelor’

Lowe could not speak about details of his time on The Bachelor, “ABC wants me to be very careful about what I say,” he admitted. Quite understandable given the fact that only two episodes of this season’s show have aired so far. Giiving away whether he found love and with whom would be very bad for ratings and would ruin the fun for the fans that are invested in watching love unfold for Lowe on TV. Lowe did say this about his plethora of dedicated female fans, particularly those who came to see him in Forney, “It’s flattering for sure, but I still haven’t grown accustomed to it.” Being as he blushed slightly when he said it, it sure seems like he is as genuine in real life as he appears on TV.

Some of Sean Lowe’s fans were on hand at The Factory Girl to meet the man they describe as cute, dreamy, sweet, and a host of other glowing praises. Sherry King of Dallas, came with her daughter Michelle White and granddaughter, eight year-old Kaylee White of Forney, just to meet their favorite bachelor. King described Lowe as, “A sweet guy with morals.” Michelle White said, “He is giving Texas a good name.” Shy Kaylee admitted that she mainly came to see Sean because “grandma and mama wanted to meet him…and he is cute.”

Some inForney.com Facebook followers spotted our post about Sean Lowe making an appearance in Forney and they showed up at the store 30 minutes later. Blanca Lester is a Kindergarten teacher at Blackburn Elementary who describes herself as, “A huge fan!” She brought her four daughters to the shop, Sadie 15, Myrah, 14, Jacey, 12, and Brianna, age seven. The Forney family of females were thrilled to meet and take photos with Forney’s most famous bachelor. They didn’t realize Lowe is an owner of The Factory Girl and said now that they know they will definitely be back. When asked which of the ladies on The Bachelor they would like to see Lowe end up with, opinions differed. Blanca chose Lesley M. from Washington D.C., while the girls lean towards Desiree H. from California.

Why do you keep posting pictures of furniture on Instagram and what is your involvement with The Factory Girl? This is a question I’ve been getting asked a lot lately so I thought I’d briefly explain. I’m the president of The Factory Girl. I have two partners, Clay and Jessie. Clay and I have been best friends for several years and Jessie is his sister. We started Factory Girl with one goal in mind- create bold, fresh, unique furniture and bags that reflect our own contemporary style. The Bachelor has allowed me to do a lot of really cool things and has presented me with many opportunities but my heart will always be with The Factory Girl because I’m building something I’m passionate about with two people I love. Work is not work when you love what you do. So check our site out and tell me what you think. I’ll see everyone Monday night!

When we first met Sean Lowe during Season 8 of The Bachelorette, he was a single guy who, according to his bio, was an insurance salesman. Cut to seven months later and Sean — who went on to star in the upcoming season of The Bachelor — is not only reportedly engaged, he also has a brand-new career!

But while we can’t go into too much detail about the new lady in Sean’s life just yet, we can fill you in on his cool new job as a partner of Factory Girl, a custom furniture and accessories company based in Forney, Texas. Speaking exclusively with Wetpaint Entertainment, co-founder Jessie Silver filled us in on what the company is all about…and what its like to work alongside the most eligible man in America!

Wetpaint Entertainment: How did Factory Girl come about?
Jessie: Well, my brother Clay met Sean six or seven years ago through mutual friends. They became best friends right off the bat. And I met Sean through my brother.

The concept for Factory Girl was something my brother and I had been working on for a while, but it all came together just last summer. We knew we wanted to stay close to Forney, which is 20 miles east of Dallas. We had grown up there and wanted to do something locally within the community.

The business sells both custom furniture and accessories, like handbags. It’s an unusual combination…
Right, initially it was just supposed to be purses, but one day my brother put a piece of furniture he had custom painted out in the store and we had a ton of people who inquired about buying it. The idea just sprung from there. It is an unusual combination, but we’ve found it works really well.

When did Sean join in?
Sean came into the picture a year ago. We wanted to take on a partner and we thought, who better than Sean? He’s loyal, positive and trustworthy — plus he’s already a great family friend. So we brought him on. Now, we each have a third share stake.

How are the duties shared among the three of you?
Sean is the president. He’s the brains of the operation. He handles the accounting and marketing and he’s the face of the company. My brother and I are the creatives – he does all the furniture and I handle the purses, picking different lines from the vendors and all that. Right now, I’m also working on a new line we’re launching in 2013.

Aside from the store, you’re selling merchandise online as well, right?
Yep, we started selling online about two or three months ago and it’s been going really well.

If they’re local, what are the chances someone will run into Sean if they visit the store?
Ha ha! Pretty good. He’s here regularly unless he’s traveling. At least four days a week.

Have you had a ton of female gawkers come by since he returned home from filming last month?
Oh, he was catching plenty of women’s’ eyes before this whole thing even started! But, yes, now we have a lot who come in just to whisper, take a picture and go. It’s hilarious.

Last question: Assuming Sean’s engaged, could he potentially do his job if it meant relocating to another city? Or would she have to move here?
It’s tough to say, but as a company we’re still pretty new. He needs to be here with us, in my opinion. But we’ll see how everything plays out.

But what does Sean do at The Factory Girl (other than fondle handbags all day)? From the looks at this Instagram picture, he answers phones while looking extremely cheerful. But we like to think he spends his free time daydreaming about the perfect clutch.

As many of you know, we’re quite a big family here at The Factory Girl. We’ve got plenty of brothers, sisters, aunts, uncles, and cousins near and distant and we’ll stop at nothing to support them. This weekend, we’re running in a 1/2 marathon in support of our brother, Clint, who has been fighting Chron’s Disease for many years now. Our fight is against this terrible disease and in hopes to find a cure. Here’s his story:

Clint was diagnosed with Crohn’s Disease in August of 2005, the day after his first child was born. The months before his diagnosis were filled with extreme fatigue, weight loss, pain, frustration, and confusion. The diagnosis was devastating and forced a complete new way of life. Although 1.4 million Americans have Crohn’s or Colitis it is often battled in private. Many people are unaware of how life altering and debilitating IBD can be. Clint has battled this difficult disease from day one on the most humble and gracious level. Most people, including family and friends, have no idea the struggles he has and how he must manage his every day life. He started Remicade infusions 3 years ago with the hope of living in remission. The Remicade has offered significant relief, however he has not been able to reach remission. Clint also has 3 young boys and lives in fear of them developing the disease some day. These are a few of the many reasons we run as a Team to honor Clint. He is a very loyal and dedicated person and will do everything in his power to find a cure. Please help us support Clint, and the many other people living with Crohn’s or Colitis. We are planning to participate in the annual Team Challenge half-marathon in Las Vegas on December 2. We are raising the money with the hope that one day there will be a cure! We are very thankful for your support! TEAM CLINT (Carly, Jessie, Brandon, Courtney, Clay, Sean, and Clint)

Since we’ve started raising money to be able to run the 1/2 marathon in Vegas, we’ve surpassed our goal of $14,000. A HUGE thank you to those who have contributed monetarily and with your thoughts and prayers. If you’d still like to donate, you can do so here. For more information about the run this weekend, please visit www.stripatnight.com. We’re very excited to be able to participate in such a meaningful event. Here’s to fighting fiercely and finding a cure!

Clay’s got something unique. And when he goes for it, he goes all the way. Recently, we caught him working on some of our swivel bar stools, a custom order, nonetheless.

Our furniture genius calls it a chair makeover. He takes something that already exists and jazzes it up to fit whatever the customer wants. In this case, she grabbed a swatch of material that matched her eat-in kitchen area and told Clay it needed to match her color scheme perfectly. He chuckled, and started in on the process.

First, he sands it down, weathering the wood a bit. Then, he applies the teal-ish green color to match the sample she handed over. While listening to country music (he is from Texas, after all!), Clay sands, paints, and sands some more… primes, stains, and applies a clear coat to give it a long lasting life, free from wear and tear.

If you haven’t been to the store to check them out first hand, these chairs swivel (the perfect place to sit when you’ve got more than one person to chat with!) and have a foot rest at just the right height. They stand about 4 feet tall and the arm rests are a little higher than most.

In case you were wondering, these bar stools are definitely available. Some of our favorite designs include this Indian Patterned Bar Stool, this beautiful Blue and Brown Bar Stool, and the lovely Red Cheetah Bar Stools. They won’t be here for long… so come and get ‘em while they’re hot!

And if you’re looking for something custom, we can do that, too! Just fill out the form here and we’ll be in touch!

XOXO,
